Persian is the official language in Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan. It has over 110 million speakers worldwide. It is an Indo-European language written with two different alphabets: in Iran and Afghanistan it is written with the Arabic-Persian alphabet and in Tajikistan it is written with the modified Cyrillic alphabet.
The Persian language belongs to the group of Iranian languages, a subgroup of the Indo-Iranian languages, which in turn belong to the Indo-European language family. It is a key language for culture, literature, poetry, music and travel.
The children who begin the course in Persian face:
At primary school they learn the alphabet and writing, conversations starting from simple words such as classroom objects, and topics such as family, home, food and fruit, time, hours, numbers, colors, the days of the week, the months and the seasons and… In middle school, however, grammar is explored at the A1-A1+ level
During high school you study the history of Persian literature and the biography of the world-famous classical Persian poets such as Firdusi, Nezami, Rumi, Saadi, Attar and Hafiz.
There will be no shortage of workshop activities such as the screening of films, or the Chaharshanbe-suri festival and the recitation of Persian songs on the occasion of Nowruz, the Persian New Year which is also celebrated in neighboring countries and especially those of Central Asia.
